The Bonita Commons Club, a private beach location of the Brooks, was a perfect place to celebrate our Swiss National Day.
Werner Christinger, member of our board, not only enabled us to use these premises, but also sponsored the apéritif to 39 members and guests.
After hearing the speech of the President of the Confederation, Pascal Couchepin, and listening to our Swiss national anthem, the crowd sipped on a very tasty glass of Swiss rosé. Thank you, Werner, for your generous offer.
Mostly dressed in red and white garments, matching the occasion, people gathered around four large tables, engaging in lively conversations.
The Olma Bratwurst which Walter Heierli and Werner grilled on the nearby barbecues, not only surprised us by it’s size but also by it’s typical flavor, reminding us of our home country, good old Switzerland.
The setting could not have been more beautiful with Swiss flags surrounding the pavilion, overlooking the beach and the calm ocean.
An unforgettable sunset reminded us that the patriotic day came to a close, another August 1st celebration that was blessed with no rain and lot’s of good spirits.
